10th Workshop on Artificial Organs, Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering
The OBI - Biomaterials and Artificial Organs is a scientific event organized in cooperation with the Sociedade Latino-Americana de Biomateriais e Órgãos Artificiais - SLABO and hosted by the Universidade de Araraquara - Uniara, bringing together researchers, faculty members, professionals, and students dedicated to the fields of Biomaterials, Regenerative Medicine, Tissue engineering, and Biomedical Devices. This year, the event will be held at Hotel Transamérica Araraquara on August 6 and 7, 2026.
Designed as a high-level scientific forum, OBI aims to promote discussion of theoretical, experimental, and translational advances, fostering integration between basic research, technological development, and clinical applications. The event convenes national and international experts, strengthening collaborative research networks and expanding opportunities for academic cooperation and innovation.
The scientific program includes plenary lectures, thematic sessions, oral presentations, and poster sessions, creating a dynamic environment for the dissemination of novel findings, methodological exchange, and in-depth technical discussions in strategic areas such as:
Targeted at researchers, faculty members, graduate students (master´s and PhD levels), and advanced undergraduate students working in related disciplines, OBI/Uniara offers a unique opportunity for scientific updating, partnership development, and engagement in a high-level academic environment.
We invite the scientific community to participate in this edition by presenting research findings, sharing expertise, and contributing to discussions that drive progress in biomaterials and health-related technologies.
The OBI - Biomaterials and Artificial Organs/Uniara will feature invited speakers with outstanding scientific recognition in the fields of biomaterials, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and biomedical devices. Their participation reinforces the event’s commitment to academic excellence and to fostering high-impact scientific and technological discussions.
The scientific program will include plenary lectures and special presentations delivered by researchers affiliated with leading national and international institutions, whose contributions have significantly advanced knowledge and innovation in health-related technologies.
To date, seven invited speakers have already confirmed their participation, highlighting the high scientific level of the event and its relevance within the contemporary landscape of biomaterials and biomedical research:
These lectures will address cutting-edge topics, including advanced biomaterials development, translational strategies in regenerative medicine, biofabrication approaches, and functional evaluation of biomedical systems, offering participants an integrated perspective on current challenges and emerging opportunities at the interface of science, technology, and clinical application.
Additional speakers will be progressively announced on this page as new confirmations are finalized, further expanding the scientific scope and international reach of the event.
The OBI - Biomaterials and Artificial Organs/Uniara will be structured as a scientific workshop, prioritizing participant interaction, in-depth discussion of strategic topics, and integration across different areas of expertise.
The program will be organized over two days, combining plenary lectures, integrated thematic sessions, selected oral presentations, and poster sessions, fostering a dynamic environment for scientific exchange and collaborative knowledge building.
Activities will be organized around the following thematic tracks:
Each track will be explored through thematic sessions that integrate invited speakers and selected contributions, encouraging dialogue across different levels of expertise and research domains.
In addition, the event will include guided poster sessions, promoting direct interaction between authors and participants, as well as dedicated moments for collective reflection on scientific challenges and translational perspectives in biomaterials and health-related technologies.
The detailed program, including schedule and confirmed speakers, will be announced soon following the finalization of invited participants.
As part of the scientific framework of the OBI - Biomaterials and Artificial Organs/Uniara, five thematic short courses will be offered on the day preceding the official start of the event.
This initiative aims to enhance the workshop-oriented nature of the event, providing participants with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in strategic areas, explore advanced methodological approaches, and strengthen the integration between basic research, technological development, and translational application.
The short courses will cover the following topics:
The activities will be conducted by invited experts, focusing on experimental, applied, and innovative aspects of biomaterials and health-related technologies.
Further information, including instructors, duration, number of seats, and registration criteria, will be soon announced in this section.

The OBI - Biomaterials and Artificial Organs/Uniara invites researchers, faculty members, and students to submit scientific papers aligned with the event’s thematic areas.
Submitting a paper provides an opportunity to disseminate scientific results, exchange experiences, and engage with the academic community working in the fields of biomaterials, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and biomedical technologies.
Papers must be submitted through an online form, the link to which will be made available on this page. At the time of submission, the author must indicate the preferred presentation format: oral presentation or poster presentation.
The final decision regarding the presentation format will be made by the Scientific Committee based on the review process. Abstracts must be written in English and submitted electronically. Each author may submit and present up to two (2) papers as the main author. There is no limit for participation as a co-author.
The abstract must include only:
Abstracts must follow the official event template, which will be available for download on this page.
All submitted papers will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee based on:
Papers may be: accepted for oral presentation; accepted for poster presentation; or rejected. The decision of the Scientific Committee is final.
Oral Presentation
Oral presentations may be delivered in Portuguese, Spanish, or English; however, presentation slides must be in English.
Poster Presentation
Posters may be presented in Portuguese, Spanish, or English.
Recommended dimensions: 90 cm × 120 cm (vertical format).
